THE Beauty Retreat Organic Day Spa located at 535 Middlewood Road has lined up a month of beauty treats and offers as part of the new National Organic Beauty Festival in partnership with leading British Spa brand, Pinks Boutique.

The celebrations form part of Organic September, the UK’s celebration of all things organic.

The message behind this year’s theme is ‘Small changes, big difference’. Making the switch to organic beauty products gives you the peace of mind that what you put on you and your family’s skin is better for you and the environment.

Organic health and beauty products are free from the vast array of synthetically created/manmade chemical ingredients such as mineral oils and paraffin which are known to clog the skin’s pores and interfere with the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins.

Organic beauty brands, such as Pinks Boutique, are certified by the Soil Association, the UK’s leading organic certification body, which recently highlighted the problem of organic beauty products on the market which are mislabelled and are misleading consumers by claiming to be “organic”, “biological” or “natural”. This practice os otherwise known as “greenwashing”.

Cindy Woodward, owner of The Organic Day Spa, has been a skincare specialist for over 18 years and aims to increase awareness of organic beauty products and their benefits by inviting people to visit Day Spa to try organic beauty products and learn about the differences between products that are certified organic and those that are not.

She said: “The demand for organic skincare is on the increase, but unfortunately, there can be a world of difference between a beauty product that has been certified and one that is merely described as “organic” on the label.

“To ensure a product is guaranteed organic, we recommend looking for the Soil Association symbol on the product before buying to ensure that what’s in the pot contains pure, natural, organic
ingredients grown with out the use of pesticides.

“We retail Pinks Boutique products and use them in our treatments so that our client and indeed the therapist who carry out the treatments, can trust them and be confident of their authenticity.

“The Organic Beauty Festival is the perfect opportunity for us to educate and inform people about how to shop for “green” products and what organic really does mean.”

Throughout September, The Beauty Retreat Organic Day Spa, located conveniently across the road from the Middlewood Supertram terminus, will be offering new and existing clients the opportunity to enjoy free upgrades on all treatments taken during September and receive a 25% discount on any further treatments taken in October, as well as enjoying free organic tea or green juice whilst enjoying your treatment in our luxury, chemical free day spa.

Please note all treatments are carried out on an appointment only basis so your treatment is on a totally one to one basis, ensuring a completely unique and relaxing beauty experience.
