High Green superb against Adwick
Posted 15 June, 2012

High Green Village CC - 131 all out
Adwick on Dearne CC - 69 all out
Both teams met on the jubilee bank holiday with their unbeaten records on the line, with HGV emerging victorious by 62 runs.
Andy Fisher lost the toss again, and Green were put into bat on a green wicket. Another strong batting display from reformed opening partnership Chris Fisher and Dan Naylor saw the team put on a solid opening partnership of 70 and past the drinks interval without loss. Fisher was first to go for 39, with Naylor making 36. Unfortunately, the wickets started to fall at regular intervals after this, as High Green were all out in the last over of proceedings for 131, with only Jack Myers, 19, adding any further resistance.
A good bowling display from all rounder Rob Lee saw him bag six wickets for 22 runs.
Phillips and Roaune also picking up two wickets apiece.
In reply, HGV's bowlers were in demolition mood. Rich Taylor and Jack Myers opened the bowling with the opposition barely scoring at one an over.
Taylor again excellent with four for 12 from his allotted 11, and Myers only conceding nine from eight overs.
Once the change bowlers took over, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Both Rob Steer and Stephen Hawnt were putting the ball in the right areas, getting three wickets apiece.
No Adwick batsman really mastered the HGV attack but Rob Lee was best with 19. Another superb performance from HGV who fielded well and held some brilliant catches, they are now the only unbeaten team in the division and take on an improving Wickersley side this coming Saturday June 16 at Thorpe Hesley CC, 1.30pm Start.
