Thanks to kind lady
Posted 17 November, 2009
May I, through your paper, thank a kind lady for all her help.
I caught the 11.43am Stagecoach bus from Stocksbridge to Meadowhall on Wednesday November 11, but only had a £5 note to pay for my £3 Day Rider bus ticket. The driver said he had no change and that if I paid using the £5 note I would have to write to Stagecoach for my £2 change, as it was up to people to have the correct money for the fare. The other alternative was to have my £5 back and catch the next bus.
That was when this kind lady behind me said she would pay for my ticket.
When I got to Middlewood, I went to the car park attendant and changed my £5 note into pound coins in order to repay the lady. At first she wouldn’t take it, saying she just wanted to help me. But I insisted that she took back her £3, as she had already helped me and I would otherwise have still been stood waiting for a bus.
